Newsletter Submission Guidelines
Thank you for your interest in having your book featured in the Hot Gay Reads Newsletter! Please read these guidelines carefully before submitting your book. Following them ensures the best chance for your promotion to be accepted and seen by our eager MM audience.

Book Requirements
Quality:
We are looking for quality MM(+) romance and erotica. Covers, blurbs, and content quality will be reviewed. While reviews are not required, we may consider the overall quality of your back catalog when deciding on your promotion.
Length:
We accept short stories, novellas, novels, and bundles/boxed sets. Pricing and length may influence acceptance.
Discounts:
Your book must be offered at one of the following prices on the day of promotion:
- Free – books must be free on the promotion day.
- $0.99 – for short stories or limited-time promotions.
- $2.99+ – full-length works or bundles may be accepted at this price.
Discounted pricing must remain in effect for at least 24 hours after the promotion.
Promotion Rules
- One submission per pen name is allowed per newsletter edition.
- Top spots are limited to one per newsletter.
- Free spots are highly sought after. Once you win, you cannot enter for another 6 months.
- Entries must be submitted with complete book details and cover image. Incomplete submissions may be rejected.
- By submitting, you agree to follow these guidelines and our Author Terms.
Content Restrictions
We do not accept books featuring:
- Underage characters in sexual situations (anyone under 18 – no exceptions)
- Bestiality (shifters, werewolves, etc. are fine)
- Necrophilia or snuff
- Illegal content (e.g., pedophilia, incest extreme non-consent without context)
Some themes, like vampires, dubious consent, or shifters, may be allowed — submissions are evaluated case by case.
Submission Process
- Fill out the Author Submission Form with your book details, cover, and pricing.
- Select your preferred newsletter date. Top spots are first-come, first-served.
- If your submission is accepted, we will contact you with confirmation and instructions.
Important: If your preferred date is not available, the spot has already been fully booked.
Payment and Booking
- Paid features are invoiced via PayPal.
- Free spots do not require payment, but entries must meet all guidelines.
- Top spots cost +$5 and are limited to one per newsletter.
- If you have a paid spot and win a free spot for the same edition, we will reschedule your free feature for another newsletter.

We can include purchase/download links for:
- Amazon
- Barnes & Noble
- Kobo
- Apple Books
- Google Play
- Smashwords
Your book must be available at the listed retailers at the time of promotion. Please provide full URLs; shortened links are not accepted.
Other Important Notes
- We reserve the right to reject or cancel any promotion at any time for any reason.
- No refunds will be issued for promotions that have already run.
- We recommend setting your promotion at least 24 hours before the newsletter goes out.
- By submitting your book, you agree that Hot Gay Reads can display your book cover, title, and description in the newsletter, on our website, and on social media.
- Promotions cannot be accepted for pre-order books or unpublished works.
Frequency of Promotion
- One promotion per pen name per newsletter edition.
- The same title cannot be promoted again until 30 days after the last promotion.
